It’s GAM time! GAM Esports gets their first win of the tournament and what a way to do so against Top Esports. That win now puts Top in third with a score line of 1-3 while GAM has 1-4. Even though they did lose to Rogue earlier today, GAM still have a chance to force a tiebreaker. Of course, this is provided both Top and DRX drop their games for today....
Image: Riot Games DAMWON Gaming has been eliminated from Worlds 2022 contention. Tomorrow, EDward Gaming and DRX will battle things out to decide which team goes up against Gen.G. The first match of the day went off to a slow start. A clean win for Gen.G. The killcount had gone stale by the 20-minute mark, at a mere 3-2 in Gen.Gs favour. Gen.G then stole the Baron from DWG, which was enough to give it a key lategame advantage....
It got LOUD in Mexico to kickstart day three. A quick rotation from Thiago “TinOwns” Sartori with Sylas getting on the scoreboard as well. LOUD soon rotated to the bottom lane and was met with Fnatic looking to defend their outer turret. Unfortunately, they lost Humanoid way too early in the fight, which gave them a numbers disadvantage. Fnatic lost four more once again, leaving Upset fleeing for his life....
Image: Riot Games Evil Geniuses and G2 Esports have been eliminated from Group B. NA teams have not had it much better. DWG didnt miss a shot here, jumping on those mistakes for useful plays. The tiebreaker match saw JDG and DWG turn a best-of-two series in the Group Stage into a best-of-three. However, DWG found 3k more gold 10 minutes in and continued to extend that lead into the midgame....
JD Gaming stays undefeated. That loss solidifies G2’s third-place spot for now with DWG.KIA taking on Evil Geniuses later today. All four teams will play each other one final time to determine who moves on to the playoffs. As for the game itself, JD did not make it easy on themselves. This comes after a fairly even exchange in the early game with both teams trying to assert dominance. However, JD was susceptible to some questionable moments that allowed G2 to fight back....
JD Gaming has scored its first win against Evil Geniuses in the Group Stage. This is the LCS third loss of the day overall. He ran for his life, but just didnt have a chance of survival. 20 minutes in, this couldve easily been EGs game. JDGs junglers were picking up kills and racking up gold, and EG was falling behind considerably. Tomorrow, JDG will take on DAMWON Gaming, while EG goes up against G2 Esports....
The LPL reigns supreme once more. This was Rogue’s third appearance at Worlds but their first-ever making it to the playoffs. If the latter were to win tomorrow, it will be an all-LPL semifinal. Unfortunately, JD was on a different level today, which started with the first game. While the entirety of game three had both teams neck-to-neck, JD just managed to squeeze out the victory.
LOUD won big against DetonatioN FocusMe, making Brazilian fans very happy. Guess how this match started: a delay! Day 1 of Worlds 2022 has been full of them, and some of them have been egregiously long. It might have been too, had the game not been paused again almost immediately after the drafting phase. LOUD pushed into the opposing home base while DetonatioN did its best to beat them back....
MAD Lions go 1-0 in Group B. The more the game wore on, the more Isurus grew into the game. They were able to fight back against MAD’s early-game aggression whilst keeping their farm up. But with the mid-game approaching, MAD was able to still hit their power spikes in time. The game was on a tether at this point with both teams very much on level terms. Sadly, some bad positioning from Grell saw him get caught out by all five of MAD....
Worlds 2022 entered its fourth opening day match with a bang, pitting Mad Lions against Istanbul Wildcats. The pause didnt last too long, thankfully. The game resumed with an almost immediate first kill going to Mad Lions Kaiser against a fleeing StarScreen. Mads Unforgiven scored a second kill against Ferret, who unfortunately got cornered by the opposing team. They just continued slipping, with Mad Lions expanding its wallet, picking up turrets and scoring more kills....

Despite losing the first game, SBG responded strongly with a thumping win to tie the series 1-1. Unfortunately, MAD’s dominance was too strong as they proceeded to take the next game to go match-point. Even MAD’s picks for all four games featured some familiar faces....
The lion slays the buffalo. Of course, this is also dependent on how RNG performs later today. As for MAD, they should be pleased with themselves for that win. While they didn’t start the game well, they sure ended it on a high note. SBG was all about that early-game aggression and it showed. The three SBG members who were in the vicinity were forced to flee, allowing MAD to give chase....

After DRX won a game against Rogue, GAM has been eliminated from the playoffs. Its been a strange day, where teams qualify or get disqualified from the playoffs by means of consequence. With this win, DRX has tied with Rogue in the Group C standings at 4-1....
