But in case it doesnt, you might try resetting the AirPods.
Also, check your Bluetooth and internet connection and keep the AirPods software updated.

Grab a lint-free microfiber cloth and gently wipe both AirPods and the case too.

Clean the speaker grills with it.
Keep in mind not to put too much pressure on the mesh grills.

Use a cotton swab and toothpick to clean the hard-to-reach places.
You should try deep cleaning the AirPods at least once every 3 months.
