The Vatican has announced the Catholic Churchs first canonised gamer saint.

The Catholic Church is about to canonise its very first gamer saint.

This will be the first time in the history of the Catholic Church that a gamer has been canonised.

Acutis was born in 1991 and passed away in 2016 at the age of 15 from Leukaemia.

The teenager spent his short life dedicated to good deeds like helping the homeless and supporting his local church.

He was also interested in technology, and designeda websitethat documented Catholic miracles online.

Acutis canonisation is rather unusual as the saint-naming process can often take decades, and sometimes even centuries.

He was decreed Venerable in 2018 and later Blessed in 2020, with two miracles attributed to him.
