Steam sets new record by breaking 40 million concurrent users for the first time

It just so happens that Monster Hunter Wilds launched over the weekend, too.

Steam has broken records by achieving an all-time high of concurrent users.

Of those users, 12 million of them were actively playing games on Steam.

There are a few reasons behind Steams rapid growth in users, if were going to speculate.

Of course, one cant ignore the massive launch of Monster Hunter Wilds over the weekend.

However, the title fell just shy, with a still-impressive 1,751,214 concurrent player count.
