What exactly is Marathon? Bungie has released an almost 10-minute-long developer update video diving into its upcoming multiplayer sci-fi extraction shooter Marathon. Where Marathon slightly differs is its selection of playable characters, called Runners. Marathon currently has no release date.

This means the mobile game will be set in a separate continuity from Destiny and Destiny 2. Its also set to enter a limited access closed alpha test on mobile platforms this November. That means it wont be beholden to Destiny 2s official canon, with its own story timeline and characters. The game is being developed in partnership with NetEase Games (Marvel Rivals). Destiny: Rising will feature first-person and third-person combat, with a variety of playable characters....
