Blizzard Entertainment is planning to release paid expansions forDiablo 4every year for the foreseeable future. As Fergusson toldKinda Funny Gamesback in June, at least two of these expansions are already deep in development. Diablo 4 players are guaranteed at least two expansions on top of the games regular seasonal updates, then. Future expansions stand to regain lost players with more story content and additional character classes, however. Well have to wait and see....

The competitive Overwatch scene will continue onwards, but likely under a very different format. The statement reads: We are transitioning from the Overwatch League and evolving competitive Overwatch in a new direction. We are excited to share details with you all in the near future. The Overwatch League was first announced in 2016 before its first season of competition rolled out in 2018....

The update will include changes to alleviate some problems introduced in the Season 1 update. Nightmare Dungeons will now have higher enemy density, and an extra stash tab is also on the way. At the end of the day ,however, these changes are not being rolled back. These are problems that will take time to solve, andSeason 1 has only just begun....

BlizzCon will skip 2025 in favour of a new show next year. The event will return with more panels, an Opening Ceremony rife with announcements, hands-on gameplay and more. A teaser for the event has also sparked unexpected rumours of a potential Heroes of the Storm revival. The teaser features a voiceover from HearthstonesLady in White,saying What was lost can be found again. Well only find out if all this speculation pays off when BlizzCon goes live from September 12-13, 2026....

Blizzard is going big in 2022. 2022 is looking to be Blizzard’s year and we’re still only in January. Just last week, it was announced that they were going to bebought over by Microsoft. It will be set in a new universe that is in no way related to Blizzard’s existing titles. It remains untitled for now with no news on any expected release date. With the release - we use that word loosely!...

However, it will continue, investing in and supporting Battle.net, so that platform isnt going anywhere. Hearthstone could use the additional exposure Steam can provide, but World of Warcraft? Thatll be the day. Its easy to read between the lines here and understand why Overwatch 2 is really coming to Steam. Overwatch 2: Invasionlaunches on August 10, the same day it arrives on Steam. The upcoming season of content includes new story content, a new game mode and a new hero....

In Overwatch 2, you wont find your rank adjusted immediately after every match anymore. The Top 500 players wont have tier divisions. These updates will recount their recent progress and if necessary, adjust their Tier Division. Overwatch 2 launches on October 4, 2022.

Activision Blizzardhas announced thatOverwatch 2slong-awaited PvE story mode is getting gutted. These Hero Missions are now no more. It’s clear that we can’t deliver on the original vision for PvE that was shown in 2019. Those things just aren’t in our plans anymore. There wont be any form of progression, talent trees or replayability. Another collaboration event similar to Overwatch 2s One Punch Man event is also in the works.

Blizzard Entertainment is lockingnew Overwatch 2 heroesbehind a battle pass, according tonew leaked detailson the sequel. From Blizzards perspective, its just good business. From the fans perspective, its another disappointing decision in a sequel filled with disappointing decisions.
