While the campaign disappoints, however, Modern Warfare 3s multiplayer modes largely provide more of the same. Yet, all of it pales in comparison to the storytelling highs of this series reboot alone. Going through several Open Combat Missions in a row is tedious and exhausting. To that end, this years instalment of the franchise certainly has more to offer. More of the same, that is. Still, its hard to deny the production value put into these reproductions....

Its easy to see why. To a lot of players, they merely set the table for the next year of multiplayer content updates. Thats where the real fun is. And with the promise ofeven more content on the horizon,I’m not sure I ever will. Most of the other game modes simply return for seconds here with new maps and weapons. Its nowhere near as tense as Gunfight, but a fun diversion nonetheless....

For the most part, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare IIs story campaign does not disappoint. What Modern Warfare II nails in spectacle however, it sorely misses in writing. That isnt to say its not a fun time - it absolutely is a blast to play through anyway. One of Modern Warfares most iconic missions is All Ghillied Up, a sniper mission with Captain Price. Naturally, Modern Warfare II also has an all-sniper mission with Captain Price....

Even in death, Los Angeles shines bright. And theres less traffic to deal with too! Once youve picked your Slayer, the story hits the ground running. So far, so Dying Light 2. and dodging, and all of your weapons can be customised at a workbench. Part of what makes fighting zombies in this game such a joy is its fantastic gore system. Set zombies aflame, and they emerge from the fires as charred, shambling wrecks....

Popular Italian plumber andfull-time Nintendo mascot Mariohas led his fair share of videogames over the last few decades. As it turns out, its actually a brilliant idea. Thankfully, the Rabbids arent as grating as they might first appear. In Edges case, watching these cartoons take themselves so seriously only makes them funnier. For example, youll frequently encounter Bob-ombs on the map. Mario is just another character in the roster now, and by far the most plain to use....

Fortunately, Mortal Kombat 1 is easy to fall in love with. Our feelings on Mortal Kombat 1s campaign remain mixed, however. Thats not to say that the campaign isnt fun to play through. There isnt a whole lot to say about the Towers because they really havent changed. Invasion is clearly the shining star of these two modes. Each node consists of a fight with a few modifiers to make things interesting....

Image: Netflix Netflixs Avatar: The Last Airbender remake clearly needed more time in the oven. Some remakes have toed the line, however. In the live-action show, Katara doesnt calm Aang down. He simply recalls a cherished memory with his former mentor and snaps out of it. Costuming and practical sets are largely faithful to the original, breathing life into Avatars wholly unique fantasy world. The shows wigs and costumes bring these characters closer to their animated counterparts, but fall just short....

Image: Netflix This show is solid proof that spin-offs arent always necessary. Unfortunately, the slim four-episode count fails to accomodate its sprawling and uneven plot. The series sets up two plotlines that eventually converge as one. Multiverse of monsters There are parts of Blood Origin that actually work quite well. We see vast green plains, craggy cliffs and black soil, providing some much-needed environmental eye candy. Eiles tunes are catchy and thankfully, were treated to another banger from Jaskier in the end credits....

And the people of Promethea will remember that. That didnt happen for me until well into the storys final hours. My trio was constantly switching up their wardrobe just because I couldnt settle on what looked best on them. and sci-fi art design. The series has managed to keep its cel-shaded identity without sacrificing graphical fidelity, and it shows. The game juggles choices and consequences pretty deftly. Verdict New Tales From the Borderlands is a bit hard to sit through sometimes....

I wasnt expectingOverwatch 2to have a smooth launch, but this is just ridiculous. The good Hot take: Overwatch 2 is actually a ton of fun. Seeing a swathe of new players jump onto Overwatch 2 since its free-to-play switch has been a joy. Everyones excited to play the game again! Were all just figuring out the meta, making mistakes and re-learning our old mains. Its not exactly like old times, but its close enough....

Making friends and killing Shadows? Persona 3 is essentially two games in one. Is that as hellish as it sounds? Is that as fun as it sounds? Again, not quite. So yes, Tartarus is fairly dull - but I found myself enjoying the game thoroughly despite that. Verdict Persona 3 Reload is an almost-perfect example of how to do a remake right. The more you have, the more money you make. The more money you make, the more resources you have to expand the Saints ranks. Your rise to power isn’t immediate, however. This group of characters has already proved divisive since the game’s reveal, and I can see why. Still, theres a tonal disconnect here thats hard to ignore. I dont buy them as friends. I barely buy them as people....

Hellblade 2 is absurdly good-looking. When youre this entranced in a games environmental storytelling, you wont mind a long walk or two. What was perceived to be Senua’s weakness in the first game is ultimately her greatest strength. Really, my biggest issue with Hellblade 2 is how short it is. I dont mind a short game, but its story has to make the most of its runtime. If I dont get a sequel, I will be rather upset....
