This marks an impressive first day for the tournament so far. The first map for G2 against T1 looked so bleak for thexccurate-led team. G2, on the other hand, was dominant in both halves and secured the first map. The second match, however, was a total domination by T1. Every game was a mountain to climb for G2. T1 showed why Icebox was their most potent map, given their understanding of the timing on the map....

G2 knows how to turn fights to their favour, and EG was just outclassed by the late game. G2 won this one. 12 minutes in, this was shaping up to be a very slow battle between two very evenly-matched foes....
This weekend’s round of games will see two teams eliminated from the LEC Winter Split playoffs. The winner will go on to face Team Vitality in the lower bracket quarter-finals. As for SK, their match-up against Team Heretics will be another exciting elimination series.
That win now puts them in the advancement series alongside Gen.G Esports and LNG Esports. This was also when G2 started to slowly bring themselves back into the game. And after another great teamfight, G2 was banging on Weibo’s top lane. That win also meant that G2 is the first and only team at Worlds to defeat an LPL squad.
The third and final game of the series was another closely fought match as both teams refused to budge.
