The first is Group Alpha and it will consist of five teams whilst Group Omega will have six teams. And unlike traditional group stage matches, the VCT EMEA Stage 1 will instead have cross-group matches. This means that teams in Group Alpha will go up against teams in Group Omega. There will be two matches a day, three times a week from every Wednesday to Friday. The top three teams from both Group Alpha and Omega will proceed to the playoffs....
From there, it will be a double-elimination bracket with the final three teams moving on to VCT Champions. Its last international LAN victory was during last season’s Masters Tokyo, which was over a year ago. They also missed out on Masters Madrid and could get finish as far as seventh/eighth during Masters Shanghai. All the matches will be live-streamed on the official VCT EMEATwitchandYouTubechannels.
KRU Fem and X10 Sapphire head to the Lower Brackets to find another chance. The two matches were Cloud9 meeting up KRU Fem and G2 Gozen battling X10 Sapphire. The latter once again took over the narrative and easily ended the first half with a 4-point advantage. We only saw one round where the spike was activated. G2 ended the first half with a 4-point advantage over X10. The map ended in round 17 with a final score of 13-4....
The arena is heating up as the last few matches of the inaugural VCT Champions are played in Berlin. By the end of round 24, both teams were tied once again. In Overtime, it was G2 Gozen that easily won the extra rounds, to end the map 14-12. Breeze saw G2 Gozen controlling the narrative as both teams played to be the first finalist of the competition. By the end of the first half, G2 Gozen led the way with a two-point lead....
Shopify Rebellion and Cloud9 White await their opponents in the lower bracket quarterfinals. The two Upper Bracket Semifinals were held one day apart due to local labor laws in Germany. Both matches saw surprising knockouts to the lower brackets. Pearl is where all came together for the G2 ladies. They were strong in the first half, not giving Cloud9 White any room to breathe. The first half ended with a score of 9-3....
The EMEA team won in a battle of attrition versus the North American competitors. VCT Game Changers is over, and we have found our first-ever winner of the tournament. The series started with Pearl, where G2 took the first few wins for themselves. However, Shopify managed to tie the scores by the end of the first half. On Bind, Shopify continued to show its advantage in late-game plays. The team from North America won even after having theircoach bannedfrom the final match for discipline reasons....
X10 Sapphire and Guild X move on to the lower quarterfinals. The third day of VCT Game Changers saw the first two matches of the lower brackets played. The second half saw X10 mount an opposition campaign to catch up. KRU tried to catch up, but X10 ended the first half with a massive four-point lead. The first half saw X10 easily dominating KRU, ending with again a four-point advantage before the swap-over....
They beat fellow NA team Cloud9 as well as Team Liquid Brazil to be in the Grand Final. Cloud9 easily won the extra rounds and left the map with a win, scoring 14-12. Icebox is where everything comes tumbling down for Cloud9 White. The first half ended with Shopify in the lead with two points. Again, Shopify rose to the occasion and became the leader in the second map, Icebox....
X10 Sapphire and Guild X will be heading home. Shopify Rebellion GC was matched up with X10 Sapphire while Cloud9 White met Guild X in the elimination matches. Overtime was then called, and the game was extended until round 30. The story was similar for Haven, where Cloud9 was again in control throughout the first half. They ended the half with a score of 9-3. Unfortunately, X10 Sapphire and Guild X are the next two teams eliminated from the tournament in Berlin....
Guild X and Fennel Female unfortunately will go through the lower brackets. The last four teams played to their hearts content for the quarter-finals at the VCT Game Changers in Berlin. The push resulted in a tie by the end of round 24, and thus extra time was called. Haven meanwhile saw the power shift a bit to the Europeans. The last map was Icebox, and Guild seems to have run out of steam by this point....
The circuit features tournaments designed for women and other marginalized genders in the region. Riot is bringing back the VCT Game Changers to APAC for the second year in a row. This week,VCT Game Changers Championship 2023will happen in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Five players from Brazil will stand ready to make their mark in their home country. She played under TBK Female during the VCT Game Changers 2022. TBK Female missed the Championship spot last year after placing last in the said tournament. After this, TBK let go of their roster and it marked their exit in the VALORANT pro scene....
